Happy Valentine's Day!

I just got back from a lovely dinner with William at PF Chang's - deeee-licious, especially the Snow Maiden sake! I have on the beautiful pink Zoya - Alegra in celebration of the day, but I wasn't able to get any good pics of it since I first put it on Sunday. And now it's chipping. Sadface. New mani time? I think so! :D

I hope you've all had a lovely Valentine's Day whether you were celebrating with a loved one or having fun with friends or just chilling at home!

And just because it's my favorite color - purple hearts for you for Valentine's Day!

Versatile Blogger Award

I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by Danish at xxDeadlyLaughterxx and Nicel at Operation Nail It in December. Thanks, ladies! On to the award!

Accepting this award comes with a few rules:
  1. Nominate 15 fellow bloggers.
  2. Inform the bloggers of their nomination.
  3. Share 7 random facts about yourself.
  4. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  5. Add the Versatile Blog Award picture to your blog post.
For my 7 random things about me, I'm going to try not to overlap with info from my past awards. Here goes!
  1. I recently saw someone's post mentioning one of Oprah's guests on her show talking about the proper way to paint your nails at home, and her nail painting order was way off from how I do mine (pinkies first, etc). I go left (non-dominant) hand first, thumb to pinky, then right (dominant) hand thumb to pinky one coat at a time. How does yours compare?
  2. I store my polishes in three slightly overflowing shoe boxes at the moment - I need some better organization!
  3. On the non-polish-related side, I love burgers most when they have mayonnaise on them, and they just seem incomplete without it. (Although cheeseburger clubs are my favorite - NOM!)
  4. My hair has changed quite a bit since childhood. I've always had thick hair, but it went from straight to straight on top and curly underneath, to pretty curly/wavy all over as I changed up the way I managed it over the years. I'm loving my wavy hair now!
  5. Circle of Death is my favorite drinking game. Six is for chicks!
  6. I love board games. Kill Doctor Lucky is fun. :D
  7. I'm a pretty go-with-the-flow and easily interested kind of person. If you introduce me to something like a hobby or TV show, I'll likely try to keep up with it and adopt it as my own.
The 15 lovely bloggers that I am nominating! (I tried to check for lacqueristas that don't have the award already.)

Nail Mail! January Julep Maven Box

Hello lovelies! I'm finally showing my January Julep Maven box (in February - eek!). I've been quite busy lately because I just got a job in the Color Lab at Capsugel where I'll be testing and formulating colors for their capsules. Kind of appropriate for a nail color junkie like me, eh? I am super excited about this job, but I haven't had a lot of time to post recently because my last week at Outback is overlapping with my first week here, so I've got a couple more long days until next Monday.

But back to the Julep! Unfortunately, my postal carrier doesn't understand that boxes that barely fit in the back side of our apartment mail boxes WILL NOT come out of the front of the mailbox because the front is smaller.

WARNING: The images you are about to view contain violent damage to my Julep box!

Now please note, the damage you see was not caused by Julep or by my postal carrier, but rather by my roommate Andrew, who took it upon himself to prove his strength by saving my box from being trapped in the mailbox for so long. I need to put a note in the box to have our carrier deliver items of this size to the door, because Andrew just pulled out my February Julep Maven box in the same fashion yesterday, although it does have significantly less damage. None of my polishes or other items were damaged, but I would hate to see Will's or Andrew's computer parts be stuck in the mail box or get damaged when they are pulled out because they're in a box too large to fit through the front.

OUCH!

Cute packaging! Everything arrived undamaged aside from the box.

I selected the It Girl box for January, which included Megan, Hayden, and Leah, along with a nail polish remover pad. I also received Demi because they offered one free for the first 5,000 subscribers.

Does this picture make anyone else think of primary colors? (Aside form the green, of course!)

I'm really excited about Leah; a green shimmer like that seems fun! Demi should be a nice red for me, and Megan looks pretty as well. I'm just wondering if I'll be able to pull off a color like Hayden. We'll see!

I'm looking forward to trying the nail polish remover pad on a glitter mani to see if it stands the real test!

Until next time, happy polishing!

My Epic Win from the Pamper with Polish Christmas Giveaway

I won Mira's Christmas Giveaway over at Pamper with Polish back in December, and received this lovely China Glaze Belle of the Ball set from her!

It included Tinsel Town and Champagne Bubbles, along with a cute Christmas ornament that matched both of them!

Here's my ornament on the tree, right next to Will's MINI ornament that got overnighted by plane from  BMW in Germany. Silly BMW, I bet it cost a lot to send those out!

Thanks again to Mira! You guys should go check out her blog - she has some lovely nail art!

Until next time, happy polishing!
